Sebastian Spreng

Sebastian Spreng - IN DER FREMDE (In Far Away Lands)

Artist Statement

Sebastian Spreng is deeply influenced by literature, mythology, classical music and the trained voice; especially in the realm of Lied and German Opera.  Through his love of music, he is the US correspondent for Argentina’s foremost classical music magazine, CLASICA. Music is present in all of Spreng's works.  Past shows have been based on musical structures comprising of a series titled: Sinfonetta, Impromptus, Chamber Music and Reverberations.  Many of his paintings have been chosen as cover illustrations for the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra Playbills, along with the New World Symphony 1995-96 Season Program Book and the Florida Grand Opera 1989-99 Season Program and Poster, the first local artist to receive such an honor.
