About the Exhibition

The inspiration for Barbara Vaughn’s exciting exhibition at Friesen Gallery springs from specific imagery the artist associates with the Wood River Valley. From Mother Nature’s spectacle of snow blanketing undulating foothills and angular peaks to the creative footprint of the Native American culture, Vaughn has assimilated observances of the local palettes and landscapes for this body of work, following decades of visits to the area. The show, titled Ifasma (Greek translation: textile, material, fabric), features abstracted photographs of water and presents a dialog about textures both natural and manmade. Barbara Vaughn will be in attendance at the opening reception on December 29.
